Pirated versions of Windows 7 will get security updates
A Microsoft spokesman has confirmed that non-genuine Windows 7 users will be able to update the future operating system with all security patches. This is currently also the case with Windows XP and Vista. According to the same spokeseman this is required in the interest of the entire computing ecosystem. This is indeed true because any unpatched systems (including pirated ones) can do a lot of harm to Microsoft’s reputation which is constantly under attack for the constant wave of flaws which are periodically discovered in their flagship operating system.
